BlogFranchise galleries in China
2008-12-01 19:32:30
There are 3 oil painting bases in China and thousands of galleries. Some galleries cover the whole floor in the building, like what we do; some are as small as a telephone booth, with a few paintings hanging on the wall.
Although we are not the first company to establish a gallery in China, we surely are the first to open a franchise. Oil paintings are not common decoration in Chinese home. Chinese tend to hang Chinese paintings or Chinese calligraphy on the wall. However, things are definitely changing with the western culture penetrating into China. Nowadays, more and more Chinese like to renovate their home with western style settings and furniture, especially for the younger generation. As a result, oil paintings start to play a role in the decoration market. Painting factories not only export artwork to overseas, but start to develop the domestic market as well.
Currently we have set up 8 franchised galleries, 7 in China and 1 in New Zealand. After CCTV reported our successful story, more and more potential investors have called in and expressed their interest in opening a franchise in their local city. We are planning to open up to 20 galleries by 2010, and expand to 100 in the coming 5 years!
